Sheffield Wednesday players react on Twitter after Birmingham victory, including Bannan, Hooper

Sheffield Wednesday beat Birmingham City 2-1 on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday came from a goal down to pick up a vital win over Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon, with two Gary Hooper goals giving the Owls a 2-1 win.

Carlos Carvalhal's men fell behind when Clayton Donaldson converted from some poor defending by Wednesday centre back Tom Lees, but a second half comeback handed Wednesday all three points.

Hooper scored twice in three minutes to turn the game on its head and win the game for the Owls, putting them just six points off an automatic promotion spot.

It was the sort of comeback that can inspire a team to promotion, and that's what Wednesday's fans will be hoping for after superb celebrations at St. Andrews after the final whistle on Saturday afternoon.

Once the dust had settled, Wednesday players took to Twitter to send messages to supporters, with right back Jack Hunt enjoying celebrations with fans and labelled Hooper a 'goal machine'.

Vincent Sasso said he was 'buzzing' and was proud to be be a Wednesday player, whilst loanee Joe Bennett called the win and the fans 'unbelievable'.

Liam Palmer remarked on a 'great comeback', whilst Barry Bannan called the victory a 'massive result', with goal hero Hooper calling the travelling fans 'brilliant'.
