Sheffield Wednesday fans react on Twitter to McGeady's first start, praise Hooper

Sheffield Wednesday came from behind to beat Birmingham City 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Sheffield Wednesday produced a stirring recovery at St. Andrews on Saturday, beating Birmingham City 2-1 having come from a goal down.

The Owls fell behind to a Clayton Donaldson opener after some poor defending from Tom Lees, but two second half goals from Gary Hooper gave Wednesday all three points.

Wednesday are now just six points off an automatic promotion place, and Carlos Carvalhal appears to be setting up a real charge for promotion - and that push could be spearheaded by two January deals.

Carvalhal wrapped up the permanent signing of striker Gary Hooper after a productive loan spell from Norwich City, before Everton winger Aiden McGeady joined the club on loan for the rest of the season.

McGeady, a Republic of Ireland international, made his first start for Wednesday against Birmingham on Saturday, and many fans felt he could be a very good player for the Owls.

After so long without football, it will take McGeady a while to get back to full fitness, and fans were pleased with what they saw from McGeady, though others felt he did't offer enough defensively.

Meanwhile, fans raved about Hooper's performance, suggesting that his permanent arrival was a bargain, and his goals could finally fire Wednesday back to the top flight.

Here is how Wednesday fans reacted on Twitter to McGeady and Hooper's performances against Birmingham...
