Report: Major stumbling block in Tottenham-Berahino discussions overcome, Pritchard loan explained

A positive transfer update over Tottenham's attempts to sign the West Brom forward.

West Brom and Tottenham Hotspur have come to an agreement over Saido Berahino, according to the Sunday People.

Indeed, chairmen Jeremy Peace and Daniel Levy are said to have arrived at a 'gentleman's agreement' that Tottenham will have first refusal on the 22-year-old forward over the summer.

The major stumbling block during negotiations for two windows now has been the fact Spurs are not willing to pay all of the money they are offering for Berahino up front.

But West Brom are reportedly now willing to look past that. Why? Alex Pritchard.

The People report that the talented prospect was indeed sent to the Baggies on loan as a sort of 'sweetener' - as many fans had speculated.

The end result, however, wasn't for Berahino to come in the other direction on Deadline Day but rather to build trust with West Brom for a summer move.

It might be another ambitious bit of speculation that doesn't have any end result but the fact Pritchard did move to West Brom from Tottenham certainly indicates some sort of improved relations between the clubs.
