El Khayati joined QPR from Burton Albion on a two-and-a-half-year contract on transfer deadline day. The former Kozakken Boys striker scored 11 goals in 44 appearances during his spell at Albion.
The 26-year-old did not start for QPR against Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, but he came on as a substitute in the 80th minute.
The Dutch forward played a key role in the win for Rangers, as he set up Matt Phillips to head home in the 88th minute.
That goal proved to be enough for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side to pick up all three points from the encounter.
El Khayati has taken to Twitter to express his delight at making his debut for QPR and at the win, with Rangers fans responding to him on the social networking site.
