Glenn Hoddle reacts on Twitter after Spurs victory, discusses Tottenham's title hopes

Tottenham must believe they can win the title now, according to Glenn Hoddle.

Tottenham Hotspur beat Watford 1-0 on Saturday afternoon to go second in the Premier League table, with Kieran Trippier the unlikely hero.

Having watched Leicester City beat Manchester City 3-1 earlier on Saturday afternoon, Spurs knew that a win could see them go second - and whilst it took a while, Mauricio Pochettino's men did get the victory they needed.

After a frustrating hour where Spurs couldn't break Watford down, Dele Alli's cross with the outside of his right foot found right back Trippier, who had the simple task of tapping home from close range.

It was yet another clean sheet for Tottenham, who still boast the league's meanest defence, and now the title race is really on for Pochettino's side.

Tottenham still sit five points behind leaders Leicester City, but head into next weekend's crunch fixtures - Spurs travel to fourth placed Manchester City whilst Leicester face Arsenal away from home in two games which could define the title race - knowing that they are right in contention.

After the final whistle against Watford, former Spurs player and manager Glenn Hoddle took to Twitter to give his verdict on the result.

Hoddle claimed that only the result mattered, and was pleased to see Spurs keep yet another clean sheet. He also discussed the club's title aspirations, suggesting that everybody at White Hart Lane must now believe that they can win the title, despite many still seeing them as something of an afterthought in the race for the Premier League crown.

Do you think Tottenham will win the Premier League title this season?
