Pique, a former Manchester United centre-back, was impressed with Leicester’s 3-1 victory over Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The win against City means that the Foxes are five points at the top of the league table at the moment.
Leicester are now favourites to win the title, and Pique, who is one of the best centre-backs in the world, is impressed.
They are the favourite now! Winning at the Etihad showed they are a strong team. It would be great if they win it! https://t.co/kRLYzg5U4p— Gerard Piqué (@3gerardpique) February 7, 2016
Pique knows the Premier League inside out, having featured in the English top flight with United. The Spain international was on the books of the Red Devils from 2004 until 2008, when he rejoined Barcelona.
The 29-year-old did not get to too many games for the United first team, but he can still boast of clinching the Premier League and the Champions League with them in 2008.
