The Sunderland loanee scored on his first Blackburn appearance - and against his parent club's local rivals.
Great performance from the team. Deserved more. Happy to score the goal!@OneRovers pic.twitter.com/mnKMVYL7vv

Blackburn Rovers fans were delighted with Sunderland loanee Jordi Gomez after a promising debut in which he netted against Middlesbrough.
Rovers took a point away from Middlesbrough as the promotion chasing side's recent wobble continued - and Sunderland fans will no doubt take pride in the fact one of their players stood in Boro's way.
Gomez has struggled to get into the Black Cats side of late but plenty of Blackburn fans have been left asking why after his debut at the Riverside Stadium.
Indeed, not only did the 30-year-old score against Middlesbrough, he showed creativity in abundance and looks as though he will fit in with Rovers well.
While Sunderland battled to earn a 2-2 draw at Anfield, then, their loanee was doing similar in the Championship. Blackburn will hope for more of the same from Gomez and here's how supporters reacted on Twitter to his first game for their side:
From highlights looks like Jordi Gomez is a player we've been missing all season someone more creative who can pick out a pass #BRFC #Rovers

Jordi Gomez could be a missing piece (of many missing pieces) of the jigsaw. @Boro sounded lucky to come away with a point. #brfc
