The Arsenal play-maker was again in top form on Sunday.
Ozil was key to the victory, scoring the opening goal and looking bright throughout.
Sunday’s strike was Ozil’s sixth goal of the campaign and along with his 16 assists it is clear the former Real Madrid man will be vital if Arsenal are to go on and claim the title this season.
Speaking after the match, Wenger hailed the contribution of the 27-year-old, saying, “He has a fighting attitude. It was a top, top, top performance from him today.”
Ozil has not always been at his best since coming to England. However this season he has been nothing short of sensational and it is up to his Arsenal teammates to ensure they follow his lead in what is the tightest title race in years.
Next up for Arsenal is a huge match against leaders Leicester that could make or break the Gunners’ league campaign.
