The striker is currently on loan from Benfica and Forest will not be signing him permanently.
It was not the most expansive of performances from Forest but they have now gone four games without conceding a goal in the Championship and remain in with an outside chance of making the play-offs.
The result came courtesy of a Nelson Oliveira goal on the hour mark, the second time he has struck against Leeds this season.
The Portuguese international has been in great form this season - scoring eight goals in 24 appearances for the club.
Signed on loan from Benfica his arrival was a real coup and he has repaid the faith shown in him by Freedman and co.
Of course Forest fans would love to see Oliveira at the club permanently from next summer. Unfortunately that will not be happening. Speaking to BBC Nottingham Sport after the game Freedman confirmed that Forest do not have the capabilities to sign the player permanently - stating:
"Hopefully we'll send him back a better player."
That will of course come as a disappointment to Forest fans but they should simply enjoy the ride with Nelson up top for the remainder of the season.
Hopefully they can bring in an adequate replacement in the summer.
