Andros Townsend and Henri Saivet react on Twitter to Newcastle win

St James Park

The Magpies beat West Brom 1-0 at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.

Andros Townsend, Henri Saivet and Moussa Sissoko were among those celebrating Newcastle United's win over West Brom on Twitter on Saturday night.

Indeed, Newcastle picked up a rare win under Steve McClaren and - even more of a rarity - now find themselves outside the Premier League relegation zone.

The Magpies' recent boost comes as a result of a 1-0 win against West Brom at St James' Park.

Tony Pulis's men were poor but Newcastle still had to finish them off and, despite still not taking too many chances, Aleksandar Mitrovic was able to fire home the winner and move the Tyneside outfit to within just five points of West Brom themselves.

Sissoko was delighted on social media, urging his team-mates to keep up the hard work.

January signing Townsend, meanwhile, says he was 'humbled' by the reception he received during his home debut for his new club.

Saivet also posted on Twitter, congratulating his team-mates for the win over West Brom but urging them to continue in the same vein.
