Everton boss Roberto Martinez has further confirmed his admiration for Andriy Yarmolenko at his press conference this afternoon.
Everton have been persistently linked with Yarmolenko for the last two transfer windows, with rumours of the Merseyside’s club’s interest in the winger rife.
And although Martinez would not to commit to confirming whether the Toffees would make a move for the Dynamo Kiev man in the summer, the Spanish manager did state how much he admires the Ukranian as a footballer.
RM: "Yarmolenko is one of the best footballers of his generation, but he is registered with another club and we are respectful of that."— Everton (@Everton) February 5, 2016
Yarmolenko’s arrival at Goodison Park would be a statement of intent, but the transfer could be a difficult one to complete.
Kiev are looking for a large fee for the 26-year-old (Daily Mirror), who has scored 76 goals in 187 appearances for them.
If Everton are able to sign Yamolenko it would further increase Martinez’s options in attack.
The Toffees already deploy Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu as their main architects, but Martinez may feel that he wants to add even further creativity to his squad in the summer, given his side’s struggles this term.
