Report: Daniel Sturridge wants to quit Liverpool, Chelsea interested

Daniel Sturridge is claimed to be keen to leave Liverpool.

Daniel Sturridge wants to quit Liverpool this summer, report The Mirror.

The England international has barely played over the past two seasons thanks to a succession of injuries.

The Mirror's report claims Sturridge is keen on a fresh start - and that former club Chelsea hold an interest in signing him.

The paper speculatively suggest Tottenham, Arsenal, and West Ham could all use a striker of Sturridge's quality, while The Mail somewhat controversially tout Manchester United as a destination.

It would be no surprise to see clubs queueing up to take a gamble on Sturridge considering his form the last season he was fully fit, netting 24 goals in 37 games.

Even though he has just played six games this season, he has four goals to his name, showing he is remains a threat when the club can actually get him on the field.

His last game came back in December, but The Telegraph reported this week he is 'exhausting the club's patience', with his slow progress in his recovery.

If Liverpool could land a hefty fee for him, cashing in could be worthwhile, but they will need to be wary about selling to a rival.
