Dougie Freedman has mixed news for Nottingham Forest fans

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman provides injury update.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has told BBC Radio Nottingham that Britt Assombalonga could return to action after a positive couple of weeks.

The 23-year-old striker has been out of action since February 2015 with a knee problem. Freedman has suggested that Assombalonga is recovering well and could be back in action soon.

The Forest boss also stated that midfielder Henri Lansbury could feature for the Reds before the end of the season. The former Arsenal prospect suffered an ankle injury during an FA Cup tie in January.

Midfielder Andy Reid, though, will not play again this campaign due to a groin problem.

Forest are 11th in the Championship table at the moment with 39 points from 29 matches. The Reds are nine points behind Ipswich Town, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.

Freedman’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the Championship.
