Celebrity Arsenal fan says Sol Campbell is right with comments about Tottenham

Arsenal fan Matt Lucas says Sol Campbell is right with his comments about Tottenham Hotspur's weakness.

Sol Campbell is a player held in deep disdain by Tottenham Hotspur fans thanks to the way he walked out on the club for bitter rivals Arsenal.

He spent subsequent North London derbies running a cauldron of hate from Spurs supporters, even if he would go on to feel justified by winning league titles with The Gunners.

Campbell yesterday voiced his feelings that Tottenham will fall short in their efforts to win the league this season, despite having moved above the Gunners for the first time this season, on goal difference.

He explained to SportLobster that he feels a lack of experience could cost Mauricio Pochettino's side. He said: "They are a young side with a lot of talent, but they might lack a player who has ‘been there, done that’, that sort of player who will keep everyone calm, focused and believing that anything is possible."

Campbell's comments prompted anger on social media from Spurs fans, seeing it as the hate-figure taking another opportunity to stick the boot into the club.

Comedian Matt Lucas, a vocal Arsenal supporter, used his Twitter account to suggest Campbell did not actually say too much wrong, and could not understand the hysteria.

Tottenham have a real chance to put pressure on Arsenal this weekend. They host Watford at White Hart Lane on Saturday, while the Gunners must visit Bournemouth a day later.

The two sides face off in the second North London derby of the season in early March.
