Newcastle will take on West Brom at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
“This is an opportunity for Newcastle,” Gray wrote on Paddypower.com. “They took a pasting in the end against Everton. Tony Pulis is tough to beat though and can kind of afford to coast their way through the last series of fixtures. They’ll have enough to avoid relegation, but I’m calling this one down the middle.”
A footnote added: “Andy’s bet : Score draw.”
Newcastle are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 24 matches. Steve McClaren’s side are two points behind 17th-placed Norwich City and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, West Brom currently find themselves 14th in the Premier League table with 29 points from 24 games. Tony Pulis’s side will head into the match against Newcastle on the back of a 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Swansea City at The Hawthorns in the league.
