Tottenham Hotspur are fighting hard near the top of the table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side is currently third in the table, two points behind second-placed Manchester City and five points below leaders Leicester City.
There is still plenty of football to be played and Tottenham certainly have the strength in depth to mount a serious title challenge between now and May, although Campbell feels they are lacking one vital ingredient – experience.
“They are a young side with a lot of talent,” Campbell told SportLobster, “but they might lack a player who has ‘been there, done that’, that sort of player who will keep everyone calm, focused and believing that anything is possible.”
Campbell did not dismiss Tottenham’s title chances out of hand, but it will be interesting to see how Pochettino’s relatively young squad copes during the period Sir Alex Ferguson famously referred to as “squeaky bum time”.
Tottenham’s next match is against Watford on Saturday and while they may be young, that very verve and courage could be what sees them over the line in first place come May.
