Sheffield Wednesday winger Ross Wallace is delighted to see Aiden McGeady has been brought to Hillsborough from Everton.
The Republic of Ireland international winger moved to Wednesday from Everton on loan during the January transfer window.
And Wallace, who played with McGeady at Celtic earlier in their careers, feels that the 29-year-old will make a huge impact at Hillsborough.
"I know Aiden really well,” he said. “We have got a real player on our hands. He's an excellent addition and he'll excite the fans.
"I'm delighted he's come here. Aiden will definitely get some goals and assists.”
McGeady was one of a number of impressive additions that Wednesday made in the previous transfer window, as Carlos Carvalhal looked to bolster his options.
The Owls are currently just outside the play off spaces, and they have assembled one of the largest squads in the Championship.
McGeady’s addition highlights their ambition, as he is one of the most high profile players outside the Premier League.
Although the creative wide-man has rarely featured for Everton this season, he has previously proven to be a threat at the top level, and Wednesday will be hoping that he can help the side move into the top six.
McGeady could make his debut for the Owls at the weekend, in the Yorkshire side's match against Birmingham City.
