Predicted Southampton and West Ham line-ups: Two new signings to start

St Marys Southampton

Here is how we predict Southampton and West Ham United will line up this weekend:

To be played on Saturday 6th February 2016 at 17:30. Venue: St. Mary's Stadium, Southampton

Odds: Southampton 8/11, Draw 5/2, West Ham 9/2

Southampton welcome West Ham United to St Mary’s on Saturday with both sides fighting hard in the top half of the Premier League table.

The Saints are currently seventh in the league with 34 points from 24 matches while the Hammers are one place higher, five points clear of their weekend opponents.

Southampton drew 0-0 with Arsenal last time out in what will be a confidence-building result while West Ham won 2-0 against Aston Villa with Michail Antonio continuing his fine recent form.

This is something of a six-pointer because if West Ham win they will stretch their lead over Southampton to eight points, but if Ronald Koeman’s men get the victory they will move to within just two points of the Hammers.

In early team news, Southampton are without Florin Gardos, Steven Davis and Jay Rordiguez while new signing Charlie Austin is a minor doubt but rated at 75 per cent to be available if called upon.

As for West Ham, they must do without Diafra Sakho, Manuel Lanzini and Carl Jenkinson, but Andy Carroll should be back, while Sam Byram and Angelo Ogbonna are also expected to return.
