Paul Merson has told SkySports he believes Chelsea will defeat Manchester United in an entertaining game at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The last time the two teams played at the stadium, last season, Chelsea managed a 1-0 win through a goal from Eden Hazard.
When they played in December at Old Trafford it was a goalless draw with excellent goalkeeping displays from David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois, but Merson believes Sunday's game will be one remembered for the attackers.
Merson predicts a 3-2 win for Chelsea, who still remain in the bottom half of the table.
He said: "United probably had less possession than they've had all season against Stoke and they won 3-0. Michael Carrick's return was key, he got the ball forward quickly and provided better service. This will be a good game, and I fancy Chelsea to edge this one."
Merson has been a staunch critic of Manchester United this season, unimpressed with their displays under Louis van Gaal.
Chelsea meanwhile are a team who he was backing to finish above United even in November when they were floundering, via SkySports, and at least he is remaining consistent with his predictions.
A loss for United would be devastating for their hopes of finishing in the top four, and with the game being on Sunday, they could head into the match having relinquished fifth spot to West Ham, increasing pressure on Louis van Gaal's side to get a result.
