The West Ham skipper is understandably delighted the club legend will partake in his special day.
Indeed, Di Canio may be poorly thought of at Sunderland, with the 47-year-old more than a little controversial during his managerial career.
As a player, though, (he was still controversial) he is remembered simply as a legend by West Ham fans.
And that's why the Hammers' current skipper is delighted to have the Italian on board for his testimonial.

Di Canio isn't the only man to have confirmed for Noble's big day, of course.
The West Ham captain also announced former goalkeeper David James will be in town on that day.
And Noble joked that he has never scored past James in training, with the ex-Hammer - in his day and on his day - a fine shot stopper indeed.
Meanwhile, West Ham travel to Southampton for a tough test during Saturday's late kick-off in the Premier League. It's not a test they will fear, though...
