The Tottenham head coach says the 22-year-old is on the same level as a certain Manchester City striker.
And, in so doing, Pochettino may have opened up a big debate.
There is no denying Kane's talent, with the Tottenham forward having netted 15 Premier League goals so far this season - on top of a superb campaign last time around.
Pochettino is quoted as telling reporters: "Vardy and Kane show the same big qualities as Aguero. They are all different and come from different circumstances but, today if we speak about [Jamie] Vardy and Kane, they are on the same level as Aguero."
It's certainly a debatable topic. After all, many consider Aguero to be the best striker in the world. If not, at least no.2 behind Luis Suarez...

As Opta stats show, Vardy and Kane have enjoyed superb seasons to date. But Manchester City's Aguero is only just behind the Tottenham and Leicester strikers having playing almost half as many minutes.
Obviously, Pochettino has to back his man - he's hardly going to tell Kane he's nowhere near the Argentine's level.
If we are taking the Spurs boss seriously, however, no matter how good Kane is, Aguero is still certainly a cut above.
