Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Clive Allen said on the Call Collymore show on talkSPORT last Saturday evening (January 30) that West Ham United are favourites to win the FA Cup fourth-round replay against Liverpool.
Allen, who played for West Ham in the 1990s, made the comment following the goalless draw between the two sides at Anfield last Saturday evening (January 30).
“I have to say that I would at this moment in time make West Ham the favourites in the replay,” said the former West Ham forward.
West Ham are in better form at the moment and also won in the Premier League in midweek. The London outfit got the better of Aston Villa 2-0 at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday.
On the same day, Liverpool went down 2-0 to Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium.
Since the FA Cup fourth-round replay will be held at the Boleyn Ground, West Ham will be favourites due to home advantage.
However, an early goal for Liverpool could make things tricky for Slaven Bilic’s side.
Given that this is a cup tie, anything is possible, and the Reds’ chances of progressing to the fifth round should not be written off just yet.
