Former Rangers ace wants the club to challenge Celtic's dominance.
Former Rangers winger Andrei Kanchelskis is desperate for his former side to return to the Scottish Premiership to challenge Celtic's dominance.
Celtic have won every title since Rangers were demoted down the divisions, and currently have a three point gap at the top, on course to retain the trophy once again.
Rangers are favourites to win promotion back to the top flight, currently eight points clear of second placed Hibernian, who have a game in hand.
Kanchelskis, speaking exclusively to 888sport.com, said: "It will be good when Rangers get back into the Premiership because at the moment Celtic just win all the titles.
"Celtic v Rangers is such a big, big derby. I’ve played in a lot of derbies – United v City, Everton against Liverpool and in front of 100,000 fans in Moscow - but for me Celtic v Rangers was the best atmosphere and the toughest to play in."
Rangers have plenty of work still to do, and should not be expected to immediately challenge for the top, but regaining their top flight status is essential, and will stir extra interest in Scottish football from around the world.
Celtic's league title this season is no done deal by any means, after their midweek loss to Aberdeen which has manager Ronny Deila under pressure from fans and the media.
