West Ham players react on Twitter after beating Aston Villa, including Antonio, Tomkins

West Ham United beat Aston Villa 2-0 on Tuesday night.

West Ham United continued their fine recent form with a 2-0 home win over the Premier League's bottom club Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

The Hammers went into the game having won three of their previous five games, and made it four wins in six with a comfortable victory over Villa.

After Jordan Ayew had received a red card in the first half for Villa, West Ham took advantage with Michail Antonio guiding a header into the corner from Mark Noble's superb pass.

Then, as Villa pushed forward to try and snatch an equaliser from a last-minute corner, West Ham countered and sealed the game, with Enner Valencia finding Cheikou Kouyate on the break, with the midfielder then prodding the ball into the roof of the net.

The result leaves West Ham only six points off the top four places, and whilst few expect the Hammers to qualify for the Champions League, Slaven Bilic deserves great credit for having his side in contention for a European place this season.

After the final whistle against Aston Villa, a number of players took to Twitter to give their verdicts on the performance, with goalkeeper Adrian dedicating his clean sheet to his new-born son Enzo.

Other players such as James Tomkins, the absent Angelo Ogbonna and goalscorer Michail Antonio also took to social media to sent messages to fans after the final whistle.
