Tom Carroll impressed after coming on as a substitute for Tottenham against Norwich.
Tottenham Hotspur had a seemingly perfect evening as they recorded a 3-0 win away at Norwich City, climbing above rivals Arsenal in the process.
Dele Alli and Harry Kane (2) scored the goals, but there were strong displays all over the pitch, including Kevin Wimmer, who was making his first Premier League start.
One player who made a noticeable impression was substitute Tom Carroll, who gave Spurs an extra bit of energy late in the game after coming on for Heung-Min Son.
He was playing in a more advanced role than he has done previously, and seemed to thrive on the added license to get forward.
Carroll has divided opinion at Spurs this season, and even his biggest fans would not suggest he belongs in the first choice XI, given the high level of performances from his teammates.
But he is proving that he is capable of being a useful squad player, able to play in different roles, and is learning in his first full season under Mauricio Pochettino, having been loaned out previously.
Here is a look at how Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to Carroll's display...
Since we bought Carroll on, we've eased the pressure from Norwich, always said it, Carroll is more than worth his value to our squad #COYS

A word for Tom Carroll.

A player I have said many less kind words about. His abilities are far more suited to CAM.
Well done. #COYS
Tom Carroll looks more and more comfortable on the ball as each game passes.

@SpursOfficial Tom Carroll came off the bench and was bloody unreal. Oh and also, Dele Alli scored one and Harry got 2 for us to win 3-0.
