Sunderland striker Fabio Borini believes his side were hard done by against Manchester City, and did not deserve to come away with a defeat.
The Black Cats were beaten 1-0 through a Sergio Aguero goal, but pushed City hard, with strong performances from a number of players, including new signing Jan Kirchoff.
Borini commented on Twitter after the game, to express his view on how unlucky his side were, but believes the display stands them in good stead for the rest of the season.
Sunderland had 11 shots on goal to Manchester City's six, although both teams managed just two on target. Sam Allardyce's side also had eight corners to City's four, but failed to make the pressure count.
Evidently the players are upbeat and have confidence despite the defeat, but need to start turning the performances into points.
Sunderland remain in the relegation zone as a result of the loss, currently in 19th position, four points away from 17th placed Norwich City.
