Soccer Saturday pundits respond when asked: Who'll finish higher, West Ham United or Liverpool?

West Ham

West Ham United currently have a five point advantage over Liverpool in the Premier League.

Matt Le Tissier, Paul Merson and Charlie Nicholas have all told Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, which was broadcast on January 30th, that West Ham United will finish above Liverpool this season.

As things stand, the Hammers are in much better form than Jurgen Klopp’s side, and they currently have a five point advantage on the Reds.

And, although Liverpool were tipped to climb the table under Klopp’s stewardship, the trio of Sky Sports pundits believe that West Ham will have enough to hold off Liverpool’s challenge.

The verdict of who would finish higher was not unanimous on Soccer Saturday, however, as Phil Thompson is still keeping faith in Liverpool.

Thompson, who used to represent the Merseyside club, believes that Liverpool can catch West Ham, as Slaven Bilic’s side could be set for a slump.

West Ham’s lead over Liverpool has been built up over 24 games, and the fact that they have done the double of the Reds has helped.

West Ham beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield in the early part of the season, before picking up a 2-0 victory against Klopp’s men at Upton Park last month.

Here is a run down of who the Sky Sports’ pundits would finish higher.

Le Tissier: West Ham.

Merson: West Ham.

Nicholas: West Ham.

Thompson: Liverpool.
