Report: Saido Berahino to hold talks with Jeremy Peace; wants to discuss West Brom future

West Brom The Hawthorns

Saido Berahino is set to hold talks with West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace.

Saido Berahino is set to meet with West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace in the coming weeks, the Express and Star report.

Berahino was continually linked with a move away from the Hawthorns during the January transfer window.

Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham, Newcastle and Stoke City all wanted to bring the 21-year-old striker in during the window, but the Baggies refused to sell their prize asset.

He may not be playing much, but he is young and homegrown, making Berahino an extremely valuable asset for West Brom.

The report claims that Peace did not want to sell Berahino whilst the Baggies are still worried about getting relegated this term, and the striker is set to hold talks with the chairman to discuss where that leaves him ahead of the summer.

Berahino clearly wants to leave the Hawthorns, and he wants assurances from Peace that he will not stand in the way of the youngster continuing his career.

The report does not clarify whether Peace wants Berahino to sign a new contract or not in the coming weeks, but with just 18 months left on his deal, the Baggies would want to tie the striker down so his asking price goes through the roof ahead of the summer window.
