Report claims Aston Villa are already considering contingency plans in case Garde leaves this summer

Trinity Road Stand - Aston Villa

Could the Aston Villa manager walk out just months after arriving?

According to a report from the Mirror, Aston Villa are already considering their options if manager Remi Garde walks out at the end of the season.

Villa are currently bottom of the Premier League with just 13 points from 24 matches and with 10 points separating them from safety as things stand time is running out for the Frenchman to turn things round.

Such is Villa’s predicament that talk is beginning to suggest Garde may well opt to leave in the summer if, as expected, his side fails to maintain their top flight status.

Villa’s failure to sign any new players in January also painted a worrying picture, with the club potentially aware of their fate and unwilling to invest heavily in reinforcements who will then be tied to long-term contracts in the Championship.

That is mere speculation, but the Mirror claims the Villa hierarchy is now considering contingency plans with Garde’s future unclear.
