Rangers secured a 1-0 victory over Raith Rovers on Tuesday evening.
Rangers secured a 1-0 win over Raith Rovers on Tuesday evening, with Andy Halliday securing all three points for the Gers.
Mark Warburton’s men maintained their eight point gap at the top of the Scottish Championship with the win, although it was not as convincing as many would have hoped.
Both sides fluffed a number of chances to increase the scoreline, but it was the Gers who dominated much of the play.
The only goal of the game came just before half time, with James Tavernier putting a ball across the face of goal for Halliday to smash into the net.
It was Tavernier who acted as Rangers’ main attacking outlet all night, frequently marauding down the right wing to create chances for himself and others.
Tavernier has been somewhat off form in recent weeks, failing to replicate the performance levels that he showed at the start of the season.
He has looked tired and struggled to fulfil his attacking and defensive duties, but his performance v Raith suggested he is getting back to his best.
Following the game, Rangers fans took to Twitter to react to Tavernier’s performance in the 1-0 win.
