I'm hopeful that both Sam Byram and Emenike be in the squad for Saturday. dg https://t.co/kr9qemfvDp— David Gold (@davidgold) February 3, 2016
Both Byram and Emenike missed Tuesday evening’s victory over Aston Villa, having linked up with the club during the January transfer window.
Byram was out injured, having made his debut against Manchester City, whilst Emenike was signed too late on deadline day to secure clearance to play.
With a few days to go before Saturday’s tie against the Saints, both Byram and Emenike will start training fully, and Gold has suggested both will play a role this weekend.
Nigerian international Emenike secured his international clearance yesterday, and Byram was only carrying a minor knock which he should easily recover from.
The full-back looked solid in his debut appearance against Man City, and with Carl Jenkinson out with a long-term injury, he will proved valuable over the course of the season.
Emenike is also likely to be granted many chances to play, as he arrives at the Boleyn Ground as striker cover due to the injuries to Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho.
It is not known whether either player will start against the Saints on Saturday, but fans will be excited to see their January signings in action for the Hammers.
