Confirmed Celtic line-up v Aberdeen: Sviatchenko starts, Kazim-Richards on the bench

Celtic Stands

Celtic take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this evening.

Celtic starting line-up: Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Sviatchenko, Tierney; Brown, Bitton; Mackay-Steven, McGregor, Armstrong; Griffiths.

Celtic substitutes: Bailly, Ambrose, Izaguirre, Allan, Forrest, Cole, Kazim-Richards.

Celtic face arguably their biggest game of the league season tonight as they take on second placed Aberdeen away at Pittodrie.

The Bhoys have endured an underwhelming season by their standards, and Sunday's 3-1 Scottish League Cup defeat to Ross County has once again piled the pressure on manager Ronny Deila.

Celtic have already lost once at Aberdeen this season, as the 10-man Dons won 2-1 earlier in the season - and a repeat of that would blow the title race wide open.

Aberdeen sit six points behind Celtic right now, but a win can close the gap and give Derek McInnes' men a real chance of stunning Scottish football and lifting the Premiership title.

Tonight, Deila has handed a start to January signing Erik Sviatchenko, after the Danish international came on as a substitute in the defeat to Ross County on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Scott Brown starts in midfield alongside Nir BItton, whilst deadline day signing Colin Kazim-Richards is on the bench after joining from Feyenoord on Monday.

Fellow new arrival Patrick Roberts isn't in the squad, but Deila does have attacking firepower on the bench in James Forrest and Carlton Cole alongside Kazim-Richards.
