Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil was in outstanding form at the Emirates Stadium last night as his side were held to a 0-0 in draw in an entertaining encounter with Southampton.
Arsene Wenger will be disappointed his side couldn’t take all three points, yet he will be consoled be the fact that his men were dominant throughout and played some lovely stuff at times.
Ozil was the pick of the bunch, carrying on what has already been a superb campaign on a personal note.

As illustrated by the table provided by Opta, the German international was heavily involved throughout as he constantly caused the Saints’ problems with his superb vision and balance.
The former Real Madrid man posted 91 touches, 46 accurate passes, five successful take-ons, four ball recoveries, two shots and a stunning 10 chances created via key passes.
Ozil already has 16 Premier League assists to his name this season, and he should have had another last night as his wicked cross was somehow headed over from Laurent Koscielny from only six yards out.
But having said that, the talented playmaker will also be disappointed not to have scored, missing a glorious first-half chance when he fired straight at Fraser Forster when well positioned.
It was a game of missed chances for the Gunners, and the draw now leaves them in fourth spot in the table – five points adrift of Leicester and behind rivals Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.
