When Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry signed on loan at West Bromwich Albion in the summer, it looked as though the Baggies had completed a wonderful piece of business.
After all, the German is regarded as one of the Gunners' best young talents and the temporary move was seen as the perfect chance for him to show what he can do when played regularly in the top flight.
Unfortunately for all concerned, Gnabry failed to make any significant impact at The Hawthorns, playing just three times for Tony Pulis’s first-team and not featuring in any of the last seven match-day squads.
The bad news for Gnabry is that he is currently in a limbo of sorts as he waits to see if he will be playing any more first-team football in the short term after returning the Emirates Stadium, and even worse, another young player from Arsenal’s fierce local rivals has just arrived at The Hawthorns as his replacement.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Alex Pritchard is a wonderful talent who excelled on loan at Brentford last season, and while injuries have robbed him of the chance to fight his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad this time round he is now back and ready to seize his chance at the Baggies.
Pritchard is a goal-scoring midfielder who can operate centrally and on both flanks and he will be looking to take this opportunity to impress and ensure he fights his way into Spurs' first-team plans in time for next season.
Tottenham have a number of exciting youngsters on their books right now and while Pritchard's injuries have limited his chances he is more than capable of catching up.
