The Serbian defender has left Tottenham Hotspur for good.
Tottenham Hotspur fans may not have had the deadline day they were hoping for, with manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy opting not to make any last-minute bids (at least not that we know of) for a new striker.
Instead Spurs waved goodbye to three players with Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard moving on loan to Sevilla and West Bromwich Albion respectively and Milos Veljkovic securing a £500,000 permanent exit to German club Werder Bremen.
The young Serbian only managed three first-team appearances for Tottenham during his time at White Hart Lane, and previous loan spells at Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough did not go quite according to plan due to injury and competition for places.
However, there is no doubting Veljkovic’s talent and after 53 matches for Tottenham’s under-21s he is now ready for the next stage of his career in the Bundesliga.
Following the news we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought of the 20-year-old’s exit and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Thought Veljkovic had some momentum at Spurs but things never came together for him post-Sherwood. Good luck to him. https://t.co/ve2OFvssaz— Thomas Cooper (@Thomas__Cooper) February 2, 2016
Great move for #Veljkovic he'll progress a lot quicker now from first team football, gutted his gone, hopefully we've got first dibs on him.— Aaron Prettyjohns (@Yidcradle2grave) February 1, 2016
Vertonghen out for two months, Fazio and Veljkovic moving on and Dier settled at DM. Let's hope Carter-Vickers gets a chance. #COYS— John Bates (@John_Boy1983) February 1, 2016
Strange we have let Fasio and Veljkovic go . Maybe that means Jan is not as far away as we thought or maybe JT on his way on loan :) :)— Simon Cruddace (@simoncruddace) February 1, 2016
