Patrick Bamford has told the Eastern Daily Press that he wishes he'd joined Norwich City at the start of the season.
The Canaries had tried to take Bamford on loan from Chelsea before the campaign started, but the 22-year-old decided that a move to Crystal Palace would have been better for his development.
It turned out to be a bad decision, as Bamford failed to make much of an impression at Selhurst Park.
And the England youth international admits that he wishes he switched to Carrow Road at the first opportunity.
“I knew from the start of the season that the manager had been keen for me to play for Norwich,” Bamford explained.
“Unfortunately I didn’t come at the start of the season but once I knew he was still interested, that was the main factor, and obviously I’ve seen Norwich play a fair bit over the last year so I knew how they played and I thought I’d fit in quite well.”
Bamford only played nine times for Palace during his time with Alan Pardew’s side, and he failed to score in any of those appearances.
The Chelsea youngster, therefore, has a point to prove while with Norwich - and he will be looking to make an impression.
Bamford could make his debut for Norwich later this evening, with Alex Neil’s side set to host Tottenham Hotspur.
