Arsenal will take on Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League.
Owen believes that the Gunners need to pick up all three points from the encounter if they aim to clinch the Premier League title this season.
The former Newcastle United striker has also backed Arsene Wenger’s side to get the better of the Saints this evening.
“Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has gone head-to-head with Ronald Koeman on ten previous occasions as Arsenal manager but has only come out on top twice,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Saints have won their last three without conceding a goal whilst the Gunners have not been at their best but this is a game they must win if they are to mount a realistic title challenge.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Arsenal to win at 5/6.”
Arsenal are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 44 points from 23 matches.
The North London outfit are level on points with second-placed Manchester City and just three behind leaders Leicester City.
Wenger’s side will head into the game against Southampton on the back of a 2-1 victory over Burnley at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Southampton currently find themselves eighth in the Premier League table with 33 points from 23 matches.
Ronald Koeman’s side have been in good form in recent weeks and have won their last three league matches.
