Mauricio Pochettino is quoted by Tottenham's official Twitter account as saying that he was 'very happy' with Kevin Wimmer's performance against Norwich City.
Spurs recorded an outstanding 3-0 win at Carrow Road this evening, with Dele Alli adding yet another goal to his name in the early stages of the contest.
Harry Kane then scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Alli, and Kane got his second and Tottenham's third in the second half to seal a 3-0 victory.
The result moves Tottenham above Arsenal into third in the Premier League table, still just five points behind league leaders Leicester City - and it was a particularly pleasing result given their defensive display.
With Jan Vertonghen out with an injury, many had wondered whether Spurs could continue their league-leading defensive record with Kevin Wimmer in the side.
The Austrian international, signed from German side Koln in the summer, hadn't started a Premier League game before tonight, and had played just 15 minutes of Premier League football.
However, Wimmer contributed to yet another Spurs clean sheet, and linked up well with centre back partner Toby Alderweireld in the heart of the Tottenham back line, and believes he turned in a 'very good' performance despite his inexperience.
Speaking immediately after the final whistle, manager Mauricio Pochettino was quoted by Tottenham's official Twitter account as saying that he was 'very happy' with how Wimmer played,
Mauricio: "I was very happy with @kevinwimmer27 - he is young but produced a very good performance."— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) February 2, 2016
What did you think of Wimmer's performance against Norwich?
