Liverpool were Jamie Vardy's latest victim as a stunning strike followed by close range effort meant Leicester City were 2-0 winners at the King Power Stadium.
The Reds were well in the game before Vardy opened the scoring but Jürgen Klopp must be alarmed at the way his side folded after they fell behind, as they looked toothless ever since, though their cutting edge was nowhere to be seen prior to that either despite looking purposeful in patches.
Liverpool are now 11 points behind the Champions League places and Klopp must surely be looking to the cups now to save something from this season, while planning ahead for next season, with tonight's opponents 16 ahead of them as their fairytale continues.
Here's how Liverpool's players rated on a familiarly poor evening:
Simon Mignolet - Barring one hairy moment where he dropped the ball from a throw - where he was adamant he should've had a free-kick - he made up for a lot of inexplicable errors made by teammates and was the reason the side went in at half time at 0-0. Find it hard to fault him for goals, probably Liverpool's best player - 6
Nathaniel Clyne - Hard to rate him, wasn't great but certainly wasn't the worst player out there in Red - 5
Dejan Lovren - Misjudged a few errors, looked a little rusty, which is odd considering he had 90 mins at the weekend. Probably the better of the two centre backs - 5
Mamadou Sakho - Not sure what he's doing for the second goal after an ok first half - 4
Alberto Moreno - That perplexing throw-in, and his shooting just needs to be stopped - 4
Lucas Leiva - Thought he struggled a lot and picked up his customary booking - 5
Emre Can - I'm a fierce critic but could see plenty of reasons why Klopp selected him. Offers a little drive and when the midfield looked in trouble he offered presence in the first half. Summed up Liverpool after they went behind as his head dropped and everything he did starting going awry - 5
Jordan Henderson - End product was awful, bailed out by Mignolet early on, just looks very uncomfortable - 4
James Milner - Looks as though he's about to produce something but then it goes flat. Much like the side, though can't fault his effort - 5
Adam Lallana - Another one I can't fault for effort, but you always want him to be half a yard sharper in one way or the other, but can't seem to do it - 5
Roberto Firmino - Movement looked ok, that's about it. Needs others around him to stretch the play when he's leading the line and it didn't happen - 5
Christian Benteke - Really doesn't help himself when he gets involved in the play from the most blatant offside position. Thought he shied away from a couple of aerial challenges - 3
Joe Allen - He's shown he's willing, battles even in adversity. Not sure what else he can do. Klopp needs to find a starting place for him but he even misplaced a pass! - 5
Joao Carlos Teixeira - Thrown on more in hope than expectation - N/A
