Taking to his personal Twitter account, Grant Ward sent a message confirming he will stay with Championship side Rotherham for the rest of the season - also admitting he has agreed a new contract with Spurs.
Happy to have signed a new contract with Spurs and to have extended my loan with @OfficialRUFC united till the end of the season— Grant Ward (@GrantWard_) February 1, 2016
Ward, 21, has been on loan with the Millers for the entire season so far, impressing in his 27 performances in all competitions. A box-to-box player - also able to play on the right of midfield - he has scored two goals and has been showing his talent on a weekly basis.
There have been suggestions that Ward was going to leave Spurs this summer, with his contract expiring and few hints that he was good enough for the side.
Mauricio Pochettino has shown a real faith in youth, but Ward has spent three years out on loan without making an appearance for Spurs, and has been overlooked for younger players in the Tottenham squad.
However, he confirmed in his tweet that he has signed a new Spurs contract, agreeing a longer-term stay at White Hart Lane.
If Ward continues to impress for the second half of this season, and enjoys a good pre-season next year under Pochettino, he could finally be promoted into the first-team and start making an impact for the Lilywhites.
