Most transfer deadline days give us plenty to talk about - from which big club is ready to break the bank to sign the player that will help them win the Premier League title, to who the relegation-threatened clubs think can save their bacon.
Sadly, this deadline day didn't quite live up to everyone's expectations and ended up being a bit of a quiet one - apart from the announcement of Pep Guardiola taking over at Manchester City at the end of the season.
With the end of the transfer window being so dull, it looks like news outlets decided to turn their attentions to anything vaguely interesting (not that we would ever do that...), and one came up with quite possibly the biggest non-story of the season... and it involved Manchester United's Memphis Depay.
In fact, it was such a lame story that even the Dutch ace decided to pipe up about it which certainly gave us a bit of a chuckle and about 7,000 of his followers on Twitter who also had a good laugh at it:
The most important news of the past transfer deadline, lucky me. pic.twitter.com/HpavyDzbXb— Memphis (@Memphis) February 2, 2016
Good lord... not Capri Sun!!! As you can imagine some of the replies to Depay were absolutely brilliant and may have summed up United's deadline day to be honest:
