West Ham are seeking to continue their excellent recent run, and pile more misery on Aston Villa.
Villa had been beginning to show signs of life after a truly dreadful first half of the season - with hope a cavalry of new signings could arrive.
Instead their transfer window has been as woeful as their on pitch performances, and Remi Garde failed to sign a single player.
West Ham on the other hand managed to add Sam Byram and Emmanuel Emenike, giving the side an important lift.
While Villa sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, West Ham are positioned as high as sixth place, just six points off the Champions League spots.
Villa have won just two league games all season and have a goal difference of minus 20.
A loss at home to Villa is unthinkable if they want to kick on, and they will want this one to be a straightforward routine victory.
