Celtic signed Colin Kazim-Richards on deadline day, but fans seemingly would've preferred Hearts new boy Abiola Dauda or Rangers signing Michael O'Halloran.

Celtic confirmed on their official website on Monday that they have signed striker Colin Kazim-Richards from Feyenoord on a two-year deal.

The Bhoys made Kazim-Richards their third signing of the January transfer window, following Danish international Erik Sviatchenko and winger Patrick Roberts, who arrived from FC Midtjylland and Manchester City respectively.

Kazim-Richards, 29, will be familiar to some fans having turned out for the likes of Bury, Brighton, Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers in English football, whilst his nomadic career has also seen him turn out for big European clubs such as Fenerbahce, Toulouse, Galatasaray, Olympiacos and Feyenoord.

The Turkish international has been snapped up to give Celtic a boost in the final third, especially after they allowed another Turkish forward, Nadir Ciftci, to leave the club on loan to Eskisehirspor.

After Celtic announced the deal, Bhoys fans took to Twitter to give their views on the deal, with a mixed reaction evident amongst supporters.

Some believe that, despite Kazim-Richards' modest goalscoring record - 16 in 50 games for Feyenoord - he will be a success during his two-and-a-half year stay at Celtic Park.

Others think that Celtic should've used youngster Aiden Nesbitt up front rather than loan him out to Partick Thistle, and even would've preferred to sign two players who joined rival clubs.

Hearts snapped up Abiola Dauda, a player who hit nine goals in 27 Eredivisie games with Vitesse Arnhem, whilst Rangers signed former Celtic youngster Michael O'Halloran - and some Bhoys fans would've rather seen Celtic sign those two players than Kazim-Richards.
