West Ham fans react on Twitter after signing Emenike, Payet's influence discussed

West Ham have signed striker Emmanuel Emmenike on loan from Fenerbahce.

West Ham United confirmed on Sunday evening that they have signed striker Emmanuel Emenike on loan from Fenerbahce until the end of the season.

The Hammers had seen Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho go down with injuries, and Emenike has been snapped up to give Slaven Bilic another option in attack.

The 28-year-old becomes West Ham's second January signing, following former Leeds United full back Sam Byram to Upton Park.

A Nigerian international, Emenike is a familiar face for manager Bilic, as whilst he was managing Lokomotiv Moscow and then Besiktas, Emenike was playing against him with Spartak Moscow and then Fenerbahce - but now they are working together.

After confirming the deal, West Ham fans took to Twitter to give their reaction to Emenike's arrival, as supporters gear up for deadline day.

Fans are keen to see Emenike in action alongside playmaker Dimitri Payet, and believe he can be influential in providing goalscoring opportunities for Emenike during his stay in East London, whilst trusting Slaven Bilic's judgement on a largely unknown player.

Some supporters aren't convinced and rather West Ham had signed Southampton new boy Charlie Austin, but there's generally a real sense of excitement amongst Hammers fans, who want to see Emenike's combination of power and pace in the Premier League.

Here are some of the reactions from West Ham fans after Emenike's arrival...
