Was Federico Fazio Tottenham's most disappointing Pochettino-era signing?

The 28-year-old has now left Tottenham on loan for Sevilla.

Federico Fazio may well return to Tottenham Hotspur - he was only allowed to leave on loan on Deadline Day.

For now, however, he is no longer Tottenham's concern. The Argentine has been offloaded and it sounds like a massive relief for most fans.

And, with the north London side having done little business this January transfer window, Fazio reminds us that sometimes it's better not to.

For the centre-back is the most disappointing Spurs signing during the era of Mauricio Pochettino.

Indeed, the 28-year-old was brought to White Hart Lane to add quality at the back or, at the very least, competition in defence.

But Fazio has frustrated fans ever since and his signing serves as a warning that spending isn't always best.

Supporters have expressed their pleasure at Tottenham's window so far - although many are unhappy they haven't brought more in. Certainly, Spurs could do with another forward.

Yet, if there isn't anyone good enough around (even though whether there is is another matter), don't bother. Paul Mitchell seems to know that - Franco Baldini didn't.
