Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Stoke City are reportedly interested in the West Bromwich Albion striker.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry suggested on the Deadline Day show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday evening (February 1) (broadcast time 5:31pm) that West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino needs to go back to basics.
“For me, he needs to go back to what made him,” said the former Arsenal striker. “Stop talking. You have a good coach, you are at a good club historically, go out there, perform and when you are going to leave, you are going to leave.
“People understand that, fans will understand that, but give them something before you leave. That’s simple for me.”
With the transfer window closing later tonight, there is a chance that Berahino will not leave The Hawthorns.
If the 22-year-old remains at West Brom, then he should heed Henry’s advice and do the best he can.
The former England Under-21 international is struggling to feature in the Baggies’ starting lineup at the moment, but he will surely get his chance as the season progresses.
The young striker has scored just three goals and created only four chances in 18 Premier League appearances for West Brom so far this campaign.
Berahino has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 58%, and has won two headers, eight dribbles and five tackles.
