HITC Sport understands Bournemouth are to seal a deal for the Sheffield Wednesday defender.
The 28-year-old, who joined Sheffield Wednesday from Charlton Athletic last summer, has struggled to establish himself at Hillsborough.
Wiggins has made just nine appearances for Wednesday and the recent arrival of Joe Bennett from Aston Villa has pushed the Welsh defender further down the pecking order at the Championship club.
Wednesday are willing to let Wiggins move and Bournemouth have moved quickly to bring the left-back back to the south coast after three separate spells at the club before.
Wiggins enjoyed successful loan spells with Bournemouth in both 2009 and 2010, helping the Cherries earn promotion to League One in his second spell with the club.
He earned a permanent move to Bournemouth ahead of the 2010/11 campaign and featured 40 times in all competitions before leaving for Charlton in the summer of 2011.
Cherries boss Edddie Howe is a big admirer of Wiggins and he feels the defender will provide suitable cover for first-choice left-back Charlie Daniels, while Tyrone Mings continues his recovery from injury.
