Report: Two strikers could still join Leeds... but during emergency loan window

The latest Leeds transfer news with less than two hours left of Deadline Day.

Leeds United are not expected to do late business but could still sign two forwards during the emergency loan window, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Indeed, Middlesbrough's signing of Jordan Rhodes has reportedly opened the door for Leeds to make a move for Kike.

However, Norwich City's Kyle Lafferty is still on the agenda for United.

Neither of the two will likely be completed today, though, but are definitely options for the loan window.

At around 9.20pm, the YEP reported: "Less than two hours to go until the 11pm deadline and Leeds hopes for a deadline day signing now look to concern Kyle Lafferty and Kike.

"Lafferty seems far more likely but for sure more likely in the forthcoming emergency loan window. Kike's name has come back to prominence because of Middlesbrough sealing their move for striker Jordan Rhodes. Boro may now look to offload Kike and Leeds have shown an interest before but Wolves appear favourites to land his services."

Then... "The message we are getting from the club is that there will definitely be no more signings before the deadline. Not even Kyle Lafferty."

The loan window certainly looks likely but any contact made now could still help Leeds then if they are fighting Wolves or anyone else for the strikers' signatures.

Steve Evans would clearly like a new forward at United but does already have Souleymane Doukara, Mirco Antenucci and Chris Wood if things don't quite work out.

If Leeds were to sign a new forward, who would you prefer - Kike or Lafferty?
