Southampton are reportedly keen on signing Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow - but Leicester City and Manchester United are also keen.

According to The Mirror, Southampton made their interest in CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa known over the weekend - but Leicester City and Manchester United want him too.

Musa, 23, has been a key player for Russian giants CSKA ever since signing from VVV-Venlo in January 2012, and it's no surprise that he is now attracting interest.

With 46 goals in 153 games, Musa has been one of the most dangerous players in Russian football for four years now - and teams are keen to finally take him away from CSKA.

The Mirror report that Leicester City have had a bid of £18.7m rejected for Musa, but are ready to make another bid before tonight's transfer deadline.

However, it's also stated that Southampton enquired about signing Musa over the weekend, whilst Manchester United are also believed to be interested.

The Saints made one smart move by bringing in Charlie Austin from QPR, but adding the speedy Musa to their attack would be another huge move from Ronald Koeman's side.

It would be something of a surprise to see Southampton beat Leicester's current offer of £18.7m, but it's suggested that the club are ready to sell striker Graziano Pelle to help fund a move for Musa.

The Nigerian international, who can play out wide or up front, possesses incredible pace, and could be a perfect replacement for current Southampton star Sadio Mane, should he choose to leave the club in the summer - a time where a deal for Musa may be more realistic than trying to rush it through during today's deadline day shenanigans.
