Report: Sevilla did not include purchase option in Federico Fazio loan from Tottenham Hotspur

The Argentine has returned to his former club but only until the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur may have suffered an injury to Jan Vertonghen this month but the club have now decided to send Federico Fazio out on loan to Sevilla.

The Argentine international joins until the end of the season, at the team he left for Spurs.

The defender does not seem to have much of a future at Tottenham so it would make sense if the deal did in fact include a buy-out clause for the player.

But reports have confirmed that Fazio's loan deal at the La Liga club does not include a purchase option.

Vavel report that Sevilla are only keen on him arriving until the end of the season when they can look at other options.

Tottenham have the likes of Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Kevin Wimmer and Eric Dier possible in the defensive options and Fazio is likely to move on in the summer.

The Argentine international has played just once this season, in a Capital One Cup defeat to North London rivals Arsenal as the arrival of Alderweireld and Wimmer pushed him down the pecking order.

He will now hope to get back on track back in Spain.
